Military Families Can Find Omaha Homes Near Offutt

Picture
Omaha's close proximity to Offutt Air Force Base makes it a great place to put down roots for military families. As personnel return home from the various conflicts around the world, they'll have to make a lot of decisions on where to raise their families. The Omaha area should definitely be considered.

Omaha does a nice job of blending city life with a more relaxed rural lifestyle. There's a down home feeling  among the people of Omaha, probably due to its roots in farming. The corn fields are not so far away that residents have forgotten their roots (or their manners).

With the countryside close at hand, one is never too far from the joys of spending time outdoors with the family. It is a short drive (in fact, a short walk, depending on where you choose to live) to the awesome Missouri River, where you'll find three seasons (at least) worth of fun. Boating on the river is popular, especially for those who like to cast the line in for some channel catfish every now and then. But water sports are also popular on the river, and you'll find water skiers out all summer long.

If you are a military family, you probably already know Bellevue, the home of Offutt Air Fore Base. But there are other neighborhoods around town that are close to Offutt, and they make good choices for school districts as well as homes.

If you're looking for Omaha real estate, it's a good idea to check out Bellevue, of course. But also take a look at Papillion-La Vista, a community on the southeast side of Omaha. You can find a list of some of the more popular Omaha neighborhoods here.
